I'm also doing this at my job...so I'm not sure I could link you the code. I even tried an empty file only with your code and a link. Facebook itself is such a hackjob (and so is the API) that I figure it's more likely them than this code. It's similar to the JS I use for FB connect on external sites, which works. I have a feeling the authorization app might not be popping up because you might already have given permission to that particular app before.
